How to inspect the installation of oil and gas recovery pipelines after completion? Three step inspection of slope, airtightness, and labeling

Release time: 2026-10-27 13:45:35 popularity:

The installation of oil and gas recovery pipelines does not mean that they can be handed over. The acceptance cannot be controlled, and the recovery rate cannot be improved later. Inspection and maintenance disputes are also hidden dangers. Three things should be taken into account during acceptance inspection: slope, airtightness, and labeling. Only by passing each item and keeping the data synchronized and archived can the quality be guaranteed.

How to do slope review

Refer to the drawing to check the slope direction. The slope direction of the gas phase pipe should be consistent with the flow direction of the condensate. Use a level ruler to check in sections, focusing on the front and back of the elbow and the position of the support - these are the most prone to reverse slope. Before backfilling the concealed section, it is necessary to review and take photos. After backfilling, if you want to adjust the slope, you need to dig it open.

Review segmentation: Measure each end of each pipe section, add a measurement at the bend and support in the middle, and record the measurement point number in the record sheet. Rectify the sections with insufficient or reverse slope on the spot, retest and backfill after rectification; Backfilling with a mentality of luck, the condensate accumulates at a low point during operation, and winter freezing and fluctuations in recovery volume will be traced back to this section of the pipe.

Pressurization and judgment of airtight testing

Conduct an airtight test according to the design pressure, and observe the pressure holding curve after pressurization. If the pressure drop exceeds the standard within the specified time, first check the connection between the flange and the thread, and apply soapy water point by point to check for bubbles. Bellows and hose joints are common leakage points, so don't jump to the conclusion that it's a pipe body issue.

There are several details that are prone to leakage during testing: the pressure gauge should be within the valid calibration period and the range should match the test pressure; The charging should be slowly graded, and after reaching the test pressure, it should be stabilized for a period of time before starting timing; When the ambient temperature changes significantly, the pressure drop judgment should take into account the temperature drift to avoid misjudging pressure fluctuations caused by temperature as leaks. Both segmented test records and overall test records should be kept on file.

Don't treat identification signs as trivial matters

Gas phase pipes and liquid phase pipes should be labeled with flow direction signs, and nameplates should be hung at operating points such as oil discharge ports, gas return ports, and liquid collection tanks. Maintenance valves should be labeled with status signs. Clearly labeled, it can avoid detours in subsequent shift handover inspections and third-party testing.

The material of the identification should also be carefully considered: the environment inside the well and the trench is humid, and paper and ordinary adhesive labels cannot withstand the rainy season. It is recommended to use stainless steel etched signs or weather resistant materials; The identification content corresponds one-to-one with the completion drawing number. The number found on the drawing can be found on site, and the signboard hung on site can be matched. This set of correspondence can be established, and later renovation and expansion projects will not be connected to the wrong pipes.

Integrity of acceptance data

The slope review record, air tightness test record, and weld inspection report shall be kept on file and handed over to the station with the completion data. The collection volume and recovery data for the first three months of operation shall be kept for observation period, and compared with the acceptance data. If there is any significant deviation, it shall be rechecked in a timely manner.

The data organization follows the acceptance process, and the main data and purposes are shown in the table below:

FAQ

Can it be put into operation with a slight deviation in slope during acceptance?

Not recommended. Slope deviation directly affects the direction of the condensate, and small deviations during operation will accumulate into accumulation points; The cost of rectifying the concealed section is the lowest before backfilling, and after it is put into operation, it needs to be excavated for rectification, which will increase the cost several times and require cooperation from the closure. Rectify and retest immediately upon discovery during acceptance, which is the lowest cost window.

Has the critical pressure drop in the airtight test been calculated or not?

When the pressure drop is stuck at the edge of the limit, do not draw a conclusion first. Review the temperature drift and instrument accuracy before making a judgment; If it is indeed critical, add soap water leak detection to the suspicious connection points, and if necessary, re press and locate them in sections. Record the judgment results truthfully, leave traces of the processing, and withstand re examination compared to reluctantly releasing.

Can the identification be supplemented after it is put into operation?

Can be supplemented, but it is not recommended to delay. After being put into operation, the entry of people into the well chamber is restricted, and there are more procedures for hot work and operations. The cost of adding labels is higher than the installation period; What's even more troublesome is the operational risk during the unmarked period - inspection errors in pipes and maintenance errors in closing valves occur during the window period of missing identification. Making all the labels at once during the installation period is the most cost-effective approach.
